To enrich the LASA/Oceania-Asia 2025 experience in Melbourne, participants are invited to join two exclusive tours: a cultural introduction before the congress and a reflective journey afterwards.

These experiences offer a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues, explore Australia’s vibrant culture and landscapes, and extend the spirit of dialogue and collaboration that defines LASA. Together, these pre- and post-congress activities create a complete cultural journey around LASA/Oceania-Asia 2025, uniting participants before the first session and after the final applause. From Melbourne’s creative laneways to the majestic cliffs of the Great Ocean Road, these tours invite you to keep learning, connecting, and celebrating in the spirit of LASA.

City Tour

Highlights include:

• Visits to Hosier Lane, Shrine of Remembrance, Fitzroy Gardens, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral
• Panoramic views of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Sports Museum
• A visit to Little Lon Distilling Co., uncovering Melbourne’s social history
• A drive past Chinatown, Parliament House, and the Queen Victoria Market

The tour concludes around 12:30 p.m., leaving participants free to enjoy lunch independently in Melbourne’s lively food and café scene. It’s an ideal opportunity to start connecting with fellow attendees and experience the city that will host LASA/Oceania-Asia 2025.

Great Ocean Road Tour

Highlights include:

• Stops at Torquay and the Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway, gateway to the coast
• Koala spotting in their natural habitat along Kennett River
• Free time for lunch in Apollo Bay (at own expense; several local restaurants available)
• A guided rainforest walk through the Great Otway National Park
• Visits to the Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps, and Loch Ard Gorge

Return to Melbourne via Colac, arriving around 8:00 p.m. With comfortable transport, expert guides, and stunning views at every turn, this tour provides a meaningful and memorable close to the LASA/Oceania-Asia 2025 experience, where academic exchange meets shared discovery.
